Gardening has been one of my favorite things to do over the past year. Since a good number of us are still inside, due to the pandemic and a lot of people want to get in to gardening. I decided an indoor plant guide would be great for beginner gardeners like me.
I choose my indoor plants with the knowledge that I don’t have much light on my end of my current space. If you have good or decent lighting then you definitely are open to more options. Here is my list of beginner friendly indoor plants I love;
POTHOS
Here are my favourite indoor plants
I love the Pothos family of plants and always knew I wanted a few before I even got any plants. My Golden Pothos is about four months old and it has grown about a foot. It sits high on my shelf and grows with little light. I water 2-4 times a week depending on the humidity.
Pothos’ are great because they grow in water and soil and are easy to propagate.
CACTUS
The cactus is a no-brainer. There different beautiful species of cacti. Native to arid regions, it is one of the hardest plants to kill and is one of the most beginner-friendly indoor plants. It will do well in well lit and low-light rooms. The only thing that will probably kill it is over watering. I water my cactus lightly once a week.
MONEY TREE
When the nursery owner I buy plants from recommended this, I was a bit unsure. However, it is one of my best plant purchases this year. It looks so good and requires medium-light. Some species will even grow under a fluorescent light.
And that is it for my low-light indoor plant list. Another indoor plant I want to get this year is the ZZ plant. I love the waxy green look and I might just make one of the DIY planters from my older post.
